Willamette Park, Sunday Sept 27th – support Parkinson’s Disease fundraiser!

Where: Willamette Park, South Waterfront, SW Portland, Or.
Time : noon until around 4pm
The occasion: charity walk event for solesupport.org who are raising funds for Parkinson’s Disease awareness. They raise funds for educational seminars about current research and treatments, support groups, exercise and speech programs, social work services, legislative advocacy, training for caregivers, and lots of other things! This is a big annual event for this organization, and it is a great cause. My own father is a Parkinson’s sufferer, and he has often joked that he can thrash strum on guitar faster than I can!! This is a real bitch of an affliction. We’ll be playing as long as people are around doing the walks and helping sponsor this amazing event. I’m reliably informed nearly a thousand supporters have already signed up. Year round, you can also help at Parkinson’s Resources.
