It’s our 10 Year Anniversary!
And we’re celebrating by having a party at the Lucky Lab Pubhouse in SW Portland (directions). Its a great venue, and we’re doing an early evening event so everyone can make it, even with family. We’ve double checked with the Lucky Lab and under-21 is fine up to 10pm. So bring the kids, educate them on Yo Mama’s music!

When: Saturday September 25th, from 6pm to 10pm
Where : Lucky Lab Pubhouse in Multnomah Village, SW Portland
(Special note!! there are 3 Lucky Labs in Portland, this is the one in SW Capitol Hwy, Multnomah Village)
Why: because its the band’s ten year anniversary, and that means we’ve been playing longer than … well… lotsa bands! Even The Beatles!
We’ll be playing the usual mix of favorite covers, the odd original tune, some stories, some photos, and taking plenty of time to stop and have a good time with everyone that has supported us over the years.
If anyone wants to sit-in or jam, let me know. Or just turn up… whatever… if you want a full set list to check out its here.

The event was a ripping success, with over 1,200 participants, volunteers, making this the most successful fund raising year for Sole Support’s annual walk event. We were most honored to be the music entertainment for the event, and wish Sole Support the very best in their endeavors.

Under new ownership, this great sports bar in SW portland is thriving! The no smoking ban is a huge change for the better, and Toby Harris, the new owner has completed some impressive remodeling.

No commentsWillamette Park, Sunday Sept 27th – support Parkinson’s Disease fundraiser!

Where: Willamette Park, South Waterfront, SW Portland, Or.
Time : noon until around 4pm
The occasion: charity walk event for solesupport.org who are raising funds for Parkinson’s Disease awareness. They raise funds for educational seminars about current research and treatments, support groups, exercise and speech programs, social work services, legislative advocacy, training for caregivers, and lots of other things! This is a big annual event for this organization, and it is a great cause. My own father is a Parkinson’s sufferer, and he has often joked that he can thrash strum on guitar faster than I can!! This is a real bitch of an affliction. We’ll be playing as long as people are around doing the walks and helping sponsor this amazing event. I’m reliably informed nearly a thousand supporters have already signed up. Year round, you can also help at Parkinson’s Resources.
We need your support to help with this event. We hope to see you there!

Once more into the Cider Mill for live music, fun food, some great micro-brew beers, and a great place to meet and make new friends. Scott’s been recuperating from throat problems back in the Spring, and we had to cancel our March date at The Mill, but now we’re back again for another fun filled Friday night!!
